Are you constantly looking for things to do at the weekends with your little ones? I am always on the lookout for something new and fun to do with Sofia. Below I have added an event for each weekend in July for anyone living in the Dublin area. From small to big events whatever takes your fancy!
Family Comedy Weekend is back at Farmleigh

We’ve a great programme of family friendly comedy at the lovely Farmleigh for a whole weekend! including stand-up comedy, comedy workshops, street performers, top joke competition, silly story telling and big board games.

Open-Air Garden Theatre; Peter Pan at Castletown

Open-Air Theatre; Chapterhouse Theatre Company present, ‘Peter Pan’Saturday 1st July, 2017 on the back lawns at Castletown. Performance starts at 4pm, with access to the lawn from 3pm.
After the hugely successful event in 2016, the OPW team at Castletown is delighted to welcome Chapterhouse Theatre Company with a production of ‘Peter Pan’ directed by Philip Stevens.
Join Wendy, Michael and John Darling on their adventrues with Peter, far away on the magical island of Neverland. There they encounter the enchanting mermaids, magical fairies and the cruelest pirate of them all, Captain Hook!
Presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, and in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, J.M. Barrie’s timeless classic is brough to life in a brand new adaptation by award winning writer Laura Turner, with beautifully designed costumes, music and songs.
For your comfort, please bring along your own rug, cushions or low back seating. Picnics are welcome and please dress for our Irish summer, this performance will take place rain/shine and tickets are non-refundable. Please note, no dogs allowed onto the back lawns.

Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular will return to Dublin’s Merrion Square this July 7th – 9th and to Cork’s Fitzgerald Park on July 15th and 16th.
Entry to this family friendly festival is entirely FREE of charge.
This year’s free festival will be brought to life through our spectacular line-up which includes world record breaking street performers, healthy heroes The Happy Pear, spandex sporting comedy duo Lords of Strut and this year’s festival ambassador – Ireland’s favourite turkey Dustin The Turkey.
Areas to explore at this summer’s biggest festival include Laya Healthcare’s Greatest Place on Earth; a spellbinding land with family health and happiness at its heart, a world street food village from Just Eat Ireland with a live music stage and waiter service, and pet wellness area with the Dublin SPCA where festival-goers can get pet health advice or be the star of the Scruffs Dog Show. We would love everyone – families, friends, couples and pet pooches – to come join in the celebrations and enjoy our FREE festival this July.

Attention all makers, tinkerers, inventors, hackers and do-it-yourselfers: A creative carnival of show and tell, Dublin Maker, is set to take over Merrion Square this Summer. Transforming it into a spectacular family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness and we want you join us.
The open call for this year’s Dublin Maker is now open to all inventors, makers, hackers and creators. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or a creative crafter, we’d love for you to apply for a place at our biggest Dublin Maker yet.
Each year, we welcome, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, artists, science clubs, students, authors and commercial exhibitors of all ages and backgrounds. Dublin Maker’s mission is to entertain, inform and connect the makers of Ireland, while inspiring the next generation of Ireland’s makers and inventors and we want you to be part of it.
Take the opportunity to glimpse into the future, get hands-on and join the Maker Revolution. There’s nothing else like it. Remember, your project doesn’t need to be finished, and it definitely doesn’t need to be for sale. We want you to share how you make, so in-progress, hobbyist projects are A-OK!

The twelfth annual Bray Air Display will take place this year on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July 2017. The festival is managed by Bray Summerfest with thanks to main supporter the Irish Aviation Authority, as well as Wicklow County Council and Bray.ie.
Awe-inspiring aerobatic acts from across Europe will take to the skies during this summer’s #BrayAirDisplay, which is supported by the Irish Aviation Authority.
