Things to do in August
I have put together a list of things to do with your family in August in Dublin and surrounding areas. I find sometimes when you are looking for things to do you totally forget what is on so this is a handy guide that you can keep coming back to. Some events are a little drive outside Dublin but I have linked all events so you can see where they are and what suits you best. Hope it gives you some ideas of things to do!
Dublin Horse Show
9th – 13th of August – 10.00 – 12.00
RDS – Ballsbridge
http://dublinhorseshow.com/tickets
The Dublin Horse Show is considered to be one of the top three equestrian shows in the world and the only one of these to be held in a major city. Held on the grounds of the RDS, the Royal Dublin Society, the Show has been running since 1864 and is the oldest show jumping competition in the world. While specialising in show jumping and other equestrian competitions, the Show is as much renowned for the social occasion it provides, which is saying something in Dublin! It is a staple of the summer calendar and one that people from all over Ireland and beyond come for year after year, as it provides social, shopping, fashion and equestrian all in one venue in early August each year.

Each session will vary and focus on a different animal, perfect for animal lovers and outdoor explorers. Highly trained experienced educators will encourage children to investigate our farm animals and explore their hidden talents. Kids will learn about and create toys and activities that will delight animal and Young Farmers alike. Farming is all about working together, working hard but having fun and satisfaction in a job well done.
We want every child who attends a workshop to leave with a greater understanding of farm life and the animals that live there.
