I have put together a list of things to do with your family in April in Dublin and surrounding areas. I find sometimes when you are looking for things to do you totally forget what is on so this is a handy guide that you can keep coming back to. Some events are a little drive outside Dublin but I have linked all events so you can see where they are and what suits you best. Hope it gives you some ideas of things to do!

Easter Egg Hunt at Ardgillan.

Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt through the Demesne. The Easter Bunny is making a welcome return to Ardgillan and will be hiding his eggs around the park for all the boys and girls to find.
He has promised to be here on the day and is looking forward to meeting everyone!

Your magical rustic experience will begin as soon as you enter the beautiful Luggwoods Enchanted Forest. You’ll be greeted by our fairy tale characters that will show you to the Easter Bunny’s tractor drawn carriage called “The Luggwoods Express”.
Once you board The Luggwoods Express our fairytale characters will guide you on an interactive and fun journey through the Enchanted Forest. Along the way, you will take in the stunning view of Dublin city and help our fairytale characters find the clues that crack the code of the lost letters in the forest. Are you ready to do an exciting Easter Egg Hunt through the mystical forest & help find the missing eggs?
At the Big Red Barn you’ll meet some Bunnies & Chicks, listen to stories, do some art n crafts and met the Easter bunny himself. Of course, he will have an egg for all of the children.

For the 2nd week of the Easter Holidays we are calling all budding Harry Potters, Hermione’s and Ron Weasley’s to join us for our Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry Camp. This magical wizarding week will be jam packed with Harry Potter themed games, challenges, arts & crafts, wand making and potion classes….so come ready to perfect your skills and compete for the House Cup!
Camp will run from Monday 2nd-Friday 6th April, from 9.00am-1.00pm/2.30pm for children ages 4-6 &7-9 years. Week long and day camp rates both available.

We promised you something huge and here it is………
Dublinia is proud to present Viking Fest 2018. A huge celebration of Viking Culture happening Easter weekend at Dublinia and Wood Quay from the 30th of March to the 2nd of April.
This unmissable festival of Viking heritage will host Living history demonstrations, Viking ships moored and on display in Wood Quay, and will culminate in a live outdoor spectacle with the international Follow the Vikings audio visual and theatrical performance at the historic Wood Quay amphitheatre, celebrating the cultural and historic impact of the Vikings on Saturday 31st March.
Dublinia hosts Viking Fest with support from Dublin City Council, Failte Ireland, Follow the Vikings and Creative Europe.
So, what’s happening…………..
Living History, Viking Weaponry, Coin Minting and crafts
Swords, shields, spears, bows axes, and the skills and tactics of Viking weaponry will be on display in the Dublinia courtyard all weekend. The special art of Viking coin minting will also be demonstrated as well as Viking crafts like tablet weaving. You’ll see history come to life with our re-enactors demonstrating how to use a quern-stone or even playing some Viking games.

Vikings Ships moored and on display
The Vikings are coming back to Wood Quay – just like they did over 1,000 years ago. Lakes Viking Warriors will have two Viking longships moored at Wood Quay on the River Liffey for all to see. A full size longship will also be aground on Wine Tavern Street with lots of Viking Warriors on hand to tell you all about the ship and life for them as it would have been a thousand years ago.
The highlight, the Follow the Vikings theatrical performance.
Follow the Vikings is an audio visual and theatrical extravaganza that will take place in the wonderful historic Wood Quay amphitheatre. A 45 minute experience of film, animation, projection, sound, dance, drumming, battle re-enactment and live action. An event not to be missed. This amazing performance is free of charge but is ticketed, and tickets will be available form the 1st of March.

We run a gorgeous art camp on mid term breaks and school holidays.
Come and enjoy some creative arts and crafts projects and of course lots of pottery painting too!
Perfect way to get a break from screen time and make new friends in a lovely environment!
Projects include pottery painting, foam clay, beads, fabric etc. On 1st day of each camp week glazed pottery project is done. All others days have acrylic pottery projects. Each of the days are themed. Pottery will vary from the image attached – you can always be assured that the quality of the projects is of equal value.
Suits Age 5 to 11. Bring a packed lunch. Wear pre-loved clothes. For Drop-off & Collection – if you are in and out of the car park in 15 minutes you don’t need to pay parking fees.
Price: €30 per day. Camp day runs from 10am to 3pm (early drop from 9am & late collection is charged at €5 p/hr p/person).
This is a very flexible camp – you can book just one day or multiple!

On our all new Airfield Explorers Science Camp, our busy campers will spend a week experiencing what it like to be a scientist, while at the same time, exploring our farm, gardens and natural habitats.
Working with our education team, our junior explorers will experiment with crazy concoctions, discover how to make rain resistant shelters, explore concepts of building and construction, and because it’s Easter, carry out lots of EGGsperiments – egg drop challenge, floating eggs and much more.
Children will spend five fun-filled days in the gardens, on the farm and in nature, learning science concepts with hands-on activities that fulfil their natural curiosity.
