Tell us your start up story? How and when did you begin?

When I fell pregnant on Pippa I knew pink was going to explode into our lives, especially after having a boy first.

When Pippa was born I naturally wanted a bow / headband with every outfit. I found it a lot more difficult than I expected to shop for babies accessories. Anything I did find were either too big or left awful marks on her head. So I got my crafty fingers out and with the help from my mam started making my own bows for Pippa.

My sisters would tell me they had so many people ask about her bows while out shopping etc… I was mortified and warned them not to tell I made it. It all became too much so my husband Gavin gave me an aul push and convinced me to set it up as a sideline business. Within 24 hours I had over 1000 followers on facebook. Now 2 years later we have over 50,000 followers across our social media platforms. We are stocked in Mothercare , Tony Kealys and Mumsworld in Dubai.

How did you fund your business?

Our own personal savings is all we had!

What would be the main challenges you face running your own business?

TIME! I have another company, 2 kids, a dog & a husband that travels every week with work.

There’s just never enough time!

What keeps you motivated?

My family, my kids, my husband, my wonderful followers & custimers and of course my amazing Little Bow Pip team! They are incredible!!

What is the best thing about running your own business?

Having the freedom to be your own boss, make your own decisions and running with them.

How do you keep a work life / balance? juggle childcare?

My family, my sisters mind the kids Monday – Friday after school and we just try our best to make it work. Its difficult and not many people realise how difficult it is to juggle it all. There’s very little downtime, once kids are in bed the laptops come back out. That’s why we try take a little holiday here and there just to breathe!

What are you most proud of?

Hmmmmm…. Tough one.

Im proud of what we have achieved in such a short space of time. We definitely have something special.

What are your goals for your business?

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

DON”T !!!

Ha just kidding. If you have a love for something and can bw 110% committed to it no matter what…. GO FOR IT! You will have tough times but you will also have amazing moments youll be forever grateful for.
