Young Farmers Series – Cows and Calves
Sunday 4th March 10.00am – 12.00pm
Airfield Estate
Overhand Way
Dundrum
Dublin 14
Our Airfield Estate Young Farmers series is back for 2018. Perfect for animal lovers and outdoor explorers, we are running a series of farming workshops for children aged 8-12 on four Saturdays throughout the year.
Each of our workshops will focus on different animals and aspects of farming. Our experienced educators will encourage children to get hands-on with life on the farm, learning about our farm animals and how they are cared for, and making toys to keep them active and entertained.
Our aim is for every child who attends these workshops to leave with a greater understanding of farm life, the animals that live there, and their role on the farm.
All workshops are hands on and outdoor based, so make sure to bring your jacket and wellies.
For our first workshop, we will get a behind the scenes look at the farmyard in spring and the chores that need to done. We will follow the journey of milk from udder to glass and learn about caring for calves by getting to know the youngest members of the herd.
